The long-term average amounts of precipitation for a season or a year give little information on the regularity with which rain may be expected, particularly for regions where the average amounts are small.
The average amount of evaporation is 60 times of precipitation, and there almost no conversion among precipitation, soil surface water and ground water.
Thus, although a wet dry precipitation sequence occurs during the several months before each of the annual coccidioidomycosis peaks on average, closer examination shows that the amount of precipitation and the matching responses as well as the time lags for each are inconsistent.
A comparison of the amount of precipitation for each month averaged over a 30 years period, both in the baseline and near-term periods, showed higher amounts of precipitation in the wet months of January April in the near-term than in the baseline period (Fig. 16).
Paris tends to receive the least amount of precipitation for French cities, averaging only 25 inches (640 mm) each year.
The annual averaged values of daily mean solar radiation, air temperature, specific humidity and annual amount of precipitation were 145 Wm-2, 7.7°C, 5.4 kgkg-1 and 2256 mm, respectively (Fig. 3).
