The anti-austerity organization Comité printemps 2015 acts as a hub for protests and is already calling for a wildcat strike.
But amid the austerity regime, organizations across the country have stepped in to try to fill some of the shortcomings in the care of Greece's senior citizens that have been caused by years of cuts.
At a time of governmental austerity, women's organizations are demanding that limited financing be reserved for what they see as more urgent issues, like adding psychological evaluation teams to help judges estimate the level of abuse suffered by plaintiffs.
Without mentioning the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank by name, the Pope also criticized the austerity programs those organizations have devised for Latin American countries and, most recently, for Indonesia, South Korea and Thailand.
The most common protests these days are against austerity cuts, fascist political organizations, and sexism.

Earlier this year, in a remarkable joint statement, the I.M.F., along with the World Bank, World Trade Organization and eight other major economic institutions, warned that austerity was hurting global growth and raising unemployment.
Fancy international organizations have been persistently offering disastrous advice, counseling austerity and interest rate hikes just as the recovery, such as it is, stumbles.
Even if the I.M.F. is rethinking its stance on austerity, it will continue to demand strict conditions because that is the only leverage the organization has to get its money back.
