The surface tension values obtained in pressurised atmospheres ranged from 270 to 490 mN/m with respect to temperature intervals where almost no data scattering occured.
The primary mode of propagation for HF radio transmissions is reflection off the ionosphere, a series of ionized layers of the atmosphere ranging in altitude from about 50 to 300 km (about 30 to 200 miles) above the Earth.
The decomposition temperature (Td at 5%% weight loss, in nitrogen atmosphere) ranges from 370 to 456 °C (Fig. 3).
About 460 million years ago, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere ranged somewhere between 14 and 22 times the current level, and the average global temperature was about 5°C higher than it is now.

Water vapour is also a normal, though quite variable, component of the atmosphere, normally ranging from 0.01 to 4 percent by volume; under very humid conditions the moisture content of air may be as high as 5 percent.
The terrain includes a mix of sheltered coves, salt marshes and beaches, and the atmosphere ranges from the cultured urban flavor of Portsmouth to the sunburned honky-tonk of Hampton Beach.
