Since the structures under interest cannot be segmented by applying a single threshold, we computed blob parameters at several (m) thresholds T.. Two ranges of thresholds were selected, the first range corresponding to the grey-level values of muscle tissue, and the second range corresponding to non-contractile tissue; both previously found in healthy participants [ 4].
Now there are several thresholds at unknown positions, but otherwise the binary model can be seen as a special case of the ordinal model.
