The phrase "at a random table" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when referring to an unspecified or arbitrary table in a particular context, such as in a restaurant, event, or gathering.
Example: "We decided to sit at a random table in the corner of the caf�� to enjoy our coffee."
Alternatives: "at an arbitrary table" or "at a selected table".
Infested areas were more likely to be located nearby these pathways than points chosen at random (Table 2).
