The phrase "assumed as if" is not standard in written English and may cause confusion.
It could be used in contexts where you want to express a hypothetical situation or condition that is taken for granted.
Example: "In this analysis, we assumed as if the variables were independent, which simplified our calculations."
Alternatives: "presumed as though" or "taken for granted that".
If this is right, and if we assume as well a realist or at least non-subjectivist conception of value, then a different way of thinking about the task of practical reason comes into view.
