Haplogroup assignment of 943 mitochondrial consensus sequences was performed using the stand-alone mt-classifier tool, implemented in HmtDB [ 33], which uses the Reconstructed Sapiens Reference Sequence (RSRS) [ 34] as mitochondrial reference.
