In the MATCH study, 200 mothers and their 8 to 12 year-old children are participating in 6 semi-annual assessment waves across 3 years.
During the very early phases of child development, three successive assessment waves were carried out when children were on average 7 months (wave 1), 17 months (wave 2), and 26 months of age (wave 3).
Four assessment waves were collected (baseline, 4-, 8-, and 12-months).
Cronbach's α coefficients ranged from 0.90 to 0.91 over the four assessment waves.
Mean values for substance use variables in both groups at all assessment waves are summarized in Table 1.
Mean values for aggression variables in both groups at all assessment waves are summarized in Table 3.

Behavior problems including affective problems were assessed at the first (baseline) assessment wave (age 10 12), the second wave (age 12 15), and the third wave (age 15 18) by the Youth Self Report (YSR/11 18) [ 41].
Please note that all measures reflect adversities during the period up until 11 years.> During the fourth assessment wave, psychiatric disorders were assessed by means of the World Health Organization Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI), version 3.0.
Starting from a gross sample of about 8500 families, a total of about 3500 families (response rate 41%%) took part in the first assessment wave.
Each assessment wave is preceded by a longitudinal pilot study, which runs 1 year before the main study is conducted, to test all instruments and procedures.
Analyses of data from the first assessment wave when children were 6 8 months of age are in accordance with a bioecological model of child development (Weinert et al. 2016).
