This method consists of three types of assessment: workflow observations, interviews with nurses and physicians, and electronic measurements of ABHR dispenser usage.
Firstly, different arrangements of dispensers were determined based on the results of two types of assessment: workflow observations and interviews with nurses and physicians.

Optimisation of the RNA isolation workflow included the assessment of several carrier molecules (bacterial rRNA, yeast tRNA, poly(I)(C), linear acrylamide) with combinations of Isopropanol/Ethanol precipitation with ammonium acetate to aid in RNA yield retention compared to commercial column-based isolation techniques (Qiagen RNeasy Micro).
The data included genomes from the 1000 Genomes Project, autism exomes, autism genomes, and Illumina's "Platinum" genomes (Additional file 2: Table S1) (http://www.illumina.com/platinumgenomes/.) This diverse collection enabled assessment of the performance parameters of the workflow with relatively homogeneous versus heterogeneous data, as expected in both biomedical and clinical scenarios.
Although, in most cases, these favorable prognostic chromosomal abnormalities and/or their related gene products can be detected by karyotype, FISH or PCR assay, they represent main targets for a microarray-based class prediction analysis to be identified before considering GEP as a useful tool in a routine workflow for prognostic assessment of AML patients.
Optimization of quality and safety requires a proactive systematic study of workflow, identification of weaknesses that could lead to suboptimal performance, and risk assessment [4].
