The phrase "assertion does not" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing the validity or truth of a statement or claim, often in a context where one is refuting or clarifying something.
Example: "The assertion does not hold true when considering the evidence presented."
Alternatives: "claim does not" or "statement does not".
