In order to develop a transcriptome reference in pigeonpea, 505 170 FLX/454 STRs and Sanger ESTs were assembled in combination to yield a pigeonpea transcriptome assembly (CcTA) comprising of a total 127 754 tentative unique sequences (TUSs).
