MANCOVA was used to determine the relative effect sizes of shared divergence among color morphs (color), morph pair history (morph pair) and unique aspects of divergence among morph-pairs in the different morph-pairs (color:morph pair) on the ecological variables BDI, LPJ weight and δN.
The first aspect of sequence divergence, we examine is the ability for phylogenetic methods to correctly infer the total number of substitutions occurring between a set of sequences given a known phylogeny.
Yet, we feel that the most striking aspect of population divergence seen here was its extraordinary complexity: significant population differences in the SF proteome occurred along multiple and orthogonal multivariate dimensions.
We also evaluated the validity of the estimated evolutionary rates by comparing the sequence divergence time calculated using the evolutionary rates and the temporal aspects of the divergence events between the four main islands and peripheral islands, which are associated with periodic changes in sea level in the straits.
This relation is likely reflected in many aspects of floral divergence among related taxa pollinated by different vectors and convergent design among unrelated taxa served by similar vectors.
