As your supporters grow and flourish, so will you.
You'll show you're not just saying something provocative to make money, and show that you're correct or on the way to being correct by holding your ideas up to the scrutiny of your opponents as well as your supporters.
However, as your friend and supporter, we know you can do much more, if you forget about what the poll numbers say and let your heart lead.
So even if you can get free PSA's from your local radio station or newspaper, they're not nearly as powerful as getting your supporters to spread the word to their friends via social networks.
But try to see if you can give as much weight to your supporters as you do to your detractors, gaining enough strength and confidence from those virtual high-fives and hugs to dampen the impact of the naysayers.
But as long as any of your supporters promote them, you must repudiate them.

Perhaps most important in your new position as mayor will be how you reach out to, as it's said in the book of Matthew, "the least of these". Just as your father was a stalwart supporter of the poor, the disenfranchised and the downtrodden, you, too, have to respond to the needs of all people.
