Subsequently, several papers indicate that the "M" and "E" oscillators in Drosophila may have distinct anatomical locations as shown by the effects of eliminating different subgroups of clock neurons or by restoring clock gene expression in specific neurons in clock mutants [4] [7].
Loss of function in Per1 and Per2 had no effect on CREB activation induced by ADRβ signaling (Fig. S2c), but abolished the peripheral clock activity as shown by lacking a rhythmic expression of Per2 and Bmal1 mRNAs in Per1−/− Per2m/m BAT (Fig. 4e g).
3) Once again, it is confirmed that miR-206 is necessary for accurate circadian timekeeping, since in the absence of miRNA, the oscillation period of the system as shown by the three representative components, Bmal1, Myod1 and Clock mRNAs and their corresponding proteins is not very constant and changes with time.
