The findings of improved reported performance, as well as the reduction in fatigue and inattention, chime with the findings of heightened alertness from Studies 1 and 2. However, after adjustment for baseline differences, anxiety and depression were not higher in the chewing gum condition.
Other respondents suggested monetary and infrastructural (e.g. software, computer) incentives (33, 17%), making reporting a mandatory activity (30, 15%), and an improved reporting system with clear and simple guidelines (25, 13%) as useful measures to improve reporting from the private sector.
