It can be used when referring to extra components or factors that contribute to a larger context or concept.
Example: "The report includes various findings as additional elements of the overall analysis."
Alternatives: "as supplementary components of" or "as extra factors in".
They are to be seen not only as possible explanatory factors, but also as additional elements of concern.
