Following up on media as a plural form, I recently saw one writer pluralize media by adding a final s-- medias"; I was-- medias.
Using it as a plural just sounds unkempt.
In general, couple causes fewer problems when treated as a plural.
("Vacances," as a plural, rather than a one-shot deal, is another appealing one).
Interestingly, the use of "haters" as a plural noun goes back much further.
Why do we now see treatment of "couple" (as in a married couple) as a plural noun?
