Elevated R2 values, particularly when that effect is enhanced as a function of magnetic field strength, generally arise from conformational transitions that occur in the microsecond millisecond timescale.

In particular, we investigated how multineuronal activity patterns emerged in the visual cortex with respect to timescale and stimulus-locking, and the degree to which the contributions of fast, intermediate, and slow coding mechanisms changed as a function of temporal properties of stimuli.
