At Dunhill, the designer Kim Jones is getting in the groove — literally, with marquetry on a stylish rosewood brief case containing artists' tools.
The only thing that interests me is the spirit itself, and I only use the customary artists' tools -- brushes, canvas and paint -- in order to get the best effects.
There are photographs of writers' beds -- those of Virginia Woolf, Jim Carroll, John Keats, Victor Hugo -- and close-up images of artists' tools and possessions: Hermann Hesse's typewriter; a Jean Genet manuscript; Rudolf Nureyev's slippers; Robert Graves's hat; Virginia Woolf's cane.
