The phrase "artists room" is not correct in standard written English.
It should be "artist's room" if referring to a room belonging to one artist, or "artists' room" if referring to a room belonging to multiple artists.
Example: "The artist's room was filled with canvases and paint supplies."
Alternatives: "studio" or "art space".
It was just to "give artists room to breathe".
