A CRISPR system is composed of the cas (CRISPR-associated) genes, a leader sequence and arrays of direct repeats separated by non-repetitive spacer sequences resulting in a RNA-interference like innate phage-resistance mechanism [ 70].
Myxomycete group I introns have been found at 23 different, but highly conserved, insertion sites [ 25], and several of the introns are diverse in sequence and highly complex in organization due to internal protein coding genes, large arrays of direct repeat motifs, and even additional catalytic RNA domains [ 11, 29].
No county in England has a greater array of direct road and rail links with London, and the whole county lies within easy commuting time of the capital.
This system consists of a set of cas genes and an array of direct repeats separated by intervening sequence spacers derived from the invading DNA [ 64, 88– 90].
Proteins can unquestionably form a variety of functional connections with each other, including a large array of direct and indirect regulatory interactions.
The CRISPR-Cas loci in prokaryote genomes consist of an array of direct, typically palindromic repeats known as CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindrome Repeats) and unique spacers located between the CRSIPR repeats [ 1].
In total, then, a biological invasion – even by a single species into a relatively species-poor natural system – can impose novel ecological and evolutionary pressures on a vast array of biological traits, via a vast array of direct and indirect pathways (see Schlaepfer et al. 2002; Cox 2004; Strauss et al. 2006a).
The questionnaire covered a vast array of direct medical cost elements associated with the treatment of LBP (see Table 1), such as visits to the general practitioner and specialists, different types of therapy, pain medication, surgery, inpatient hospital stays, and expenditure for utility devices and physical training connected with the treatment and prevention of LBP.
Cytokines are capable of a wide array of direct interactions – for example with central nervous system (Maes et al, 1995; Zalcman et al, 1994), liver, and muscle receptors (Beutler et al, 1985) – as well as mediating wasting (Fordy et al, 1999) in colorectal cancer.
In this talk, I will describe a recent effort to produce a prototype array of direct-absorbing lumped element KIDs designed for CMB polarimetry at 100 GHz (3 mm) with the QUBIC telescope, including a discussion of design considerations, material development, and measured array performance.
In addition, a Type I CRISPR/Cas system [ 64] was identified in the ST1 genome comprising eight cas genes and three CRISPR-arrays composed of direct repeats of 28 bp, and 14, 15, and 5 spacers.
