In all three cases in this study the EFHIAs were conducted as rapid assessments and involved an integrated appraisal step (combined identification and assessment steps) [ 10, 15].
The only difference to the process described in some HIA guidance was that all three involved an integrated appraisal step, rather than separating out identification and assessment [ 9, 10].
We have presented the first steps of the development and validation of a health risk appraisal measure that has been specifically designed for use in the corporate setting.
Taking the idea of effective managers not being required to do appraisals one step further, having this capability could be a prerequisite for promotion to senior management levels.
