"Rapid appraisal of agricultural knowledge systems" (RAAKS) (Engel, 1995) is a related methodology for facilitating innovation as an emergent property of a knowledge network, comprising such actors as farmers, extension workers, researchers, NGO workers, and policy makers.
Second, the binary opposition between deviant cultures and the culture of rights – between people who are morally wrong and an enlightened minority who is right – can hardly lead to genuine appraisal of local knowledge.
Trialists and research ethics committees should verify a state of reasoned uncertainty in relation to an up-to-date synthesis and appraisal of existent knowledge and the informed beliefs of colleagues.
This is a shortcoming, because health care professionals are explicitly called upon for critical appraisal of health knowledge and medical literature particularly since evidence-based medicine becomes increasingly significant in the course of their practice [ 12– 15].

There were no significant differences at baseline among the four different curriculum delivery groups by age; gender; profession; race; ethnicity; geographic location; personal use of HDS; self-appraisal of computer knowledge; or baseline scores on K, CONF or COMM practices, indicating that randomization resulted in equivalent groups (Table 1).
