The phrase "applying the decision" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing the implementation or execution of a decision that has been made.
Example: "After much deliberation, the committee is now focused on applying the decision regarding the new policy changes."
Alternatives: "executing the decision" or "implementing the decision".
