By applying SVC, the original video is encoded into one base layer and several enhancement layers.
In all cases, the SVC was applied for the activation peak for an aspheric volume of, at least, 8-mm radius from the contrast maxima.
SVC was applied among the areas with a strong a priori hypothesis, namely the nigrostriatal area (caudate and putamen) and mesocortical areas (ACC and bilateral DLPFC, which play important roles in working memory, and the ventral tegmental area).
Given our a priori hypothesis that PD 22 and dyskinesias 23 would be associated with abnormal activity of the putamen, we defined the bilateral dorsocaudal putamen as a region of interest (ROI) and applied small volume correction (SVC) using a sphere 10mm in radius on the Montreal Neurologic Institute coordinates ±28, 2, 2 (x, y, z).
