In order to further assess the impact of increasing the phred cutoff on repertoire composition, we determined the abundance coverage estimator (ACE), a commonly applied indicator of repertoire diversity.
Maternal morbidity was found to be the most frequently applied indicator regarding fatal/undesirable outcome (not shown in table).> Some variability was identified in indicators ostensibly measuring the same intervention, highlighting the difficulties of cross-site comparison in maternity care.
Lastly, the authors of the study applied indicators of data quality [27], again according to KOMOD methodology [23].

Currently applied indicators for possible PTB infection (cough >2 weeks for the HIV uninfected (45) and cough/weight loss/fever/night sweats for the HIV infected (71)) are insufficient in settings such as Bissau, where HIV status is often unknown at first encounter and sputum smear microscopy and CXR are the only available diagnostic tools.
The assessment has shown that the different data sources complement each other and that applying indicators using various data sources, when available, will enhance the comprehensiveness of visual landscape assessment.
Existing syndromic surveillance approaches apply indicator-based components, such as data from emergency departments [ 6, 7], emergency medical dispatch centres [ 8, 9], and telephone help lines [ 10, 11]; as well as information on school-absenteeism [ 12, 13] or over-the-counter drug sales of analgesics [ 14].
Table 1 gives an overview of all the research indicators used in this study, their respective definition, the unit of measurement applied, the indicator type, and also details of the indicator source and period.
If an aggregate score would be applied, each indicator should be weighted considering stakeholder importance, not just ranked, for example using analytical hierarchy process (AHP).
