The identification of microorganisms was carried out through API galleries (bioMérieuxItalia SpA).
To identify the germs we used latex agglutination kits for Gram-positive germs and API galleries (BioMerieux) for Gram-negative bacilli.

Enzymatic activities of Lactobacillus strains were evaluated by using the API ZYM galleries (BioMérieux, Itay) as described by the manufacturer.
The commercial biochemical gallery Api NH (BioMérieux) was used for the identification.
Their sugar degradation capability was assessed using Gallery API 50 CH. 1 means that the strain efficiently fermented the sugar, 0 means that the strain was unable to degrade the sugar.
It was identified as Corynebacterium group F1 (the corresponding numeric profile of the gallery API-Coryne was 3001325).
Identification was performed using biochemical identification galleries (12136A, API Coryne®, bioMérieux, Basingstoke, UK) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
