A White House official declines to give reporters — assembled at a Marriott 12 miles away from Trump's golf course — any details on the president's agenda for the day, any updates on the crash of the U.S. military Osprey off the coast of Australia, or any comment on photographs of Trump driving a golf cart.
Marriott, based in Washington, operates Marriott and Renaissance hotels.
Kathleen Duffy, the spokeswoman for New York City Marriott, denied that any promises of new jobs were made to the 700 employees of the 800-room hotel.
Marriott reiterated to hotel owners on Feb. 7 that any profits it earned through Avendra would be used to offset any fees the hotels might owe Marriott for doing business through Avendra.
Marriott said they will not request any information or send attachments, so if you receive an email communication that differs from this statement, it could be phishing scammers who often strive to take advantage of situations like this.
