In an analysis of the digestive tube of Chironomidae, Shimabukuro and Henry (in press) identified algae (Diatomacea, Closterium sp., Peridinium sp., Zygnemaphyceae and Spirogyra sp ., animal origin resources (Rotifera, Ostracoda, Protozoa, Cladocera and animal fragments), and fine and coarse particulate organic matter.
He followed the regeneration of the cut fragments, and then measured the weight of the cardboard pieces corresponding to the animal fragments that completed regeneration successfully.
