Erosion model parameters have been derived from experiments correlating particle impact angle and erosion rate.
Erosion phenomena showed a strong correlation with material's hardness at oblique impingement angle while, erosion behavior at normal impingement is explained by the flow work given as hardness to elastic modulus ratio.
In the low impact angle, the erosion resistance of the clad layer was superior to that of the medium carbon steel substrate.
Influence of slope angle The erosion events detected and road networks surveyed up to a slope angle of 39° clearly make the higher slope class the most prone to erosion events and volumes of soil released and thus induced road damaged cases (Fig. 14, plot (b)).
