The phrase "and the second specimen" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when referring to a second item or example in a list or discussion, particularly in scientific or analytical contexts.
Example: "We collected data from the first specimen, and the second specimen showed significantly different results."
Alternatives: "as for the second sample" or "regarding the second example".
