The phrase "and so generates" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to indicate that one action or process leads to the creation or production of something else.
Example: "The new policy improves efficiency and so generates higher productivity among employees."
Alternatives: "thus produces" or "thereby creates".
This has the added benefit of allowing the pitches to be used during the week, often by the local community, and so generates much-needed additional revenue.
