The phrase "and so fail" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to indicate a consequence or result of a previous action or situation, often implying that failure is a direct outcome.
Example: "If we do not prepare adequately for the presentation, we may not engage the audience and so fail to convey our message effectively."
Alternatives: "and thus fail" or "and consequently fail".
