The fruticose species, i.e. Bryoria sp., Evernia divaricata, Letharia vulpina, Usnea sp., pin lichens as well as Chrysothrix candelaris, Cetrelia olivetorum and Lobaria pulmonaria were found to be reliable indicators of forest autochthony in Swiss mountain landscapes.
