PIK3C2A (α polypeptide) and PIK3C2B (β polypepetide) are both vertebrate specific and form a strongly supported clade.
However, 2 specimens, the archival isolate V458IND and a recent human specimen INDH33, were clearly the most distinctive of the group and formed a strongly supported subgroup within this cluster.
Elsewhere on the phylogeny, the coscoroba swan is removed from the Cygnus and emperor goose clade, and instead forms a strongly supported clade with the Cape Barren goose, a grouping that has received previous support in molecular datasets (CR1 transposon in LDH B [ 17], mitochondrial srRNA [ 29]).
Divergent homologs of this gene are annotated in the genomes of A group strains, but these are distant from wBol1_0187 in the phylogenetic tree and form a separate, strongly supported clade with a gene from the homoacetogenic bacterium Clostridium ljungdahlii, suggesting two independent transfers into Wolbachia genomes.

Subunits γ1 and γ2 form a strongly supported group, whereas the γ3, γ4 and ε subunits all group together.
In our analysis, Meiacanthus and Plagiotremus form a strongly supported clade that is the sister group of Petroscirtus and Xiphasia.
