The phrase "an aged individual" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when referring to a person who is advanced in age, often in a formal or respectful context.
Example: "The study focused on the health outcomes of an aged individual living alone in a rural area."
Alternatives: "an elderly person" or "a senior citizen."
The remains, which date back to 500,000 years ago, also represent the earliest post-cranial evidence for an aged individual in the human fossil record.
