The phrase "amplitude line" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in contexts related to physics, engineering, or signal processing, where it refers to a line representing the amplitude of a signal.
Example: "The amplitude line on the graph clearly shows the variations in signal strength over time."
Alternatives: "amplitude graph" or "amplitude curve".
The transducer and the illumination system are attached to a scanning head that performs a raster scan on the x y plane from which several "amplitude mode" lines ("A lines") are obtained in depth direction, i.e. z direction, that allows us to put together several two-dimensional (2D) planes or "brightness mode" lines ("B-lines") yielding a 3D image [ 16, 17].
