Alternation rates of 60 70% are usual in spontaneous alternation paradigms, depending on the behavioural strategy used by the rats [ 15].
Fig. 3f summarizes the statistical results, showing that of all measures, subjective incongruence appears to be the best predictor of alternation rate, outperforming prediction of alternation rate on the basis of disparity and perspective cues (both objective and subjective) and objective incongruence.
In delayed alternation, a chi-square analysis was used to compare alternation rates to chance.
Statistical analyses of these results show that objective incongruence is a better predictor of alternation rate than both objective disparity-defined slants (paired sample t-test, t5 = 9.52, p<0.01) and objective perspective-defined slants (paired sample t-test, t5 = 9.85, p<0.01).
Here, individual differences in alternation rate become apparent: the magnitude of the increase in alternation as a result of incongruence varies between subjects.
Using proper System Identification techniques will help to consider any change in the inherent reservoir specifications in addition to operating point variations due to injection alternation rate and also severe nonlinear nature of the reservoir and consequently to obtain adaptive model for the reservoir which is able to reflect all the mentioned phenomena.
