The phrase "altered to either" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing changes or modifications that can result in one of two possible outcomes or options.
Example: "The settings can be altered to either increase performance or enhance security, depending on the user's needs."
Alternatives: "changed to either" or "modified to either".
