On patterned surfaces, site-selective adhesion on and growth of rat primary hepatocytes (HCs) and bovine carotid endothelial cells (ECs) allowed patterned co-culture, exploiting hydrophobic/hydrophilic surface chemistry regulated by culture temperature as the sole variable.
