The vessels were placed in a 37° 5% CO2 incubator for 30 min to allow the matrix to solidify.
The chambers were incubated at 37°C with 5% CO2 for 2 h to allow the matrix to form a continuous thin layer.
To the wells of 24-well plates, 200 μl of phenol red-free ice cold Matrigel were added and the plates were placed in a 37°C incubator for one hour to allow the matrix to gel.
In all, 50 μl of Matrigel was loaded in each well of the 96-well plate and the plate was incubated at 37 °C in a tissue culture incubator for 30 min to allow the matrix to polymerise.
Therefore, we conclude that the cavitation resistance of the rubbery phase does not directly contribute to toughness, but instead simply allows the matrix to deform by shear.
Such discrepancy might be due to the platy structure of the feldspar, which, in turn, might act as the internal lubricant that allows the matrix to be elongated, to a better extent, to rupture [11, 14].
In order to determine the morphology at short mixing times, a model experiment is developed that allows the matrix to be dissolved away so that the dispersed phase may be observed directly using scanning electron microscopy.
(5) The hydroxylapatite was de-fined prior to use by resuspending the powder in a large volume of annealing buffer, allowing the matrix to settle by gravity, and removing the still slightly cloudy upper phase.
Although unfolding of the cristae allows the matrix to expand without rupture of the inner membrane, the outer membrane will break and lead to the release of proteins in the intermembrane space such as cytochrome c and other factors that play a critical role in apoptotic cell death [44,45].
Then the plate was incubated at 37 °C for at least 1 h to allow the matrix solution to solidify.
