I was concerned about the allied 10,000, and at the end of the day I'm not sure how many of those came.
Responders were made up of parents and professionals, consisting of 133 parents (52.6%), 63 midwifes (24.9%), 26 nurses (10.3%), 17 allied professionals (6.7%) and 14 doctors (5.5%).
The classification of conferences resulted in 8 allied professional, 5 illness related, 30 primary care, and 14 special mixed population (data not shown).
The respondents consisted of significantly more junior than senior residents (68.4% vs. 31.6%, p < 0.05), with larger proportion in surgery and allied specialties (86, 63.2%) than in general medicine and allied disciplines (50, 36.8%).
The staff included 19 physicians (17 GPs and 2 nurse practitioners), 7 allied health professionals, 10 specialists and 7 clerical front office staff.
Participants reported qualifications in nursing (24; 24.5%), psychology (31; 31.6%), allied health (11; 11.2%), and physical sciences (4; 4.1%), with several reporting multiple professional and/or academic qualifications.
Of these, 13 were MDs (8 IM, 5 FP) and 6 were allied health practitioners (2 IM, 4 FP).
Again, the number of nurses (8.6%) and medical staff (6.7%) who presented "severe psychological distress" was also higher, in comparison to allied (1.7%) and auxiliary (3.7%) personnel (p = 0.033).
Of the 17 members belonging to the allied Greens, 12 voted no and 2 abstained.
Professionals (n=140) consisted of consultants (24%), PD nurse specialists (19%), nurses and care assistants (9%), allied health professionals (31%), social workers (1%) and others (16%).
