As Prichard came to see it, the basic mistake made by defenders of a sense-datum theory is that of supposing that perceiving is a form of knowing; all the other errors flow from this (Prichard 1938; see also his 1909, p. 99).
Namely, the error of Model 3 (which in both case was the largest one) was set to 1 and all the other errors of the remaining three models, were normalized against error of Model 3. The Prediction Error (PE) for each experimental dataset was computed by repeating the parameter fitting procedure described above, but this time using a leave-one-out cross-validation procedure.

In order to assess the effects of session, training method, and training mode on the number of gender errors, we coded the errors as a binary variable (with all gender errors scoring 1 and all correct responses and all other errors scoring 0) and assessed the effects of training method and training mode for each session (see Fig. 3 and Table 8).
A previous analysis of random measurement and modeling uncertainties associated with estimating forest carbon from LUCAS plots reported that plot-to-plot variation was the greatest source of uncertainty (SEM = 9.1% of mean ACD) while the propagation of all other errors resulted in only a 1% increase in overall uncertainty (i.e. ΔSEM = 0.1%) (Holdaway et al. 2014).
The only other significant finding was a main effect of sex on the sum of all other errors [ F 1,17 =8.13; p=0.01], with females making more errors than males.
