The phrase "alignment to report" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in contexts where you are discussing the need for consistency or agreement in a report or document.
Example: "Before we finalize the project, we need to ensure there is alignment to report among all team members."
Alternatives: "consistency in reporting" or "agreement for the report".
Reads with multiple alignments are more likely to be aligned to different locations by different aligners, due to the difference in alignment strategies these aligners employ, as well as the standards of how to randomly choose one alignment to report.
