The phrase "alignment is said" is not correct in standard written English.
It may be intended to convey that something is commonly stated or believed about alignment, but it lacks clarity and proper structure.
Example: "In many discussions about project management, alignment is said to be crucial for success."
Alternatives: "It is said that alignment" or "Alignment is often described".
Neutral alignment is said to exist when the line connecting the center of the femoral head and center of the ankle passes through the center of the knee, and varus or valgus alignment is said to exist when this line passes medially or laterally, respectively, to the center of the knee [ 4, 25].
An alignment is said to match a query to a coding region if the subject portion of the alignment overlaps the coding region and is on the same strand.
Genomic regions consisting of common or repeat sequences that prevent unique read alignment are said to have low mappability (Derrien et al. 2012; Graze et al. 2012; Stevenson et al. 2013).
A sub-map alignment π1 is said to be conflicting with another alignment π2 if either: the sub-map of π 1 overlaps the sub-map of π 2; or π 1 aligns to the same in silico map as π 2, but in a different location or strand.
