Originally known as the Airport Railway Phase 2, the contracts of the West Rail Line Interface Works were awarded shortly after construction works of the West Rail commenced.

In the above discussions, the flight phases P3 (takeoff) and P12 (landing) are assumed to occur in the vicinity of the airport since the flight phases occur at a low height over the runway.
For instance, the highest levels of HC emissions are observed for the phases of descent, taxi out, and taxi in, for which the corresponding durations are 18, 12, and 4 min. Considering the air quality in the vicinity of the airport (related to flight phases P1 to P3 and P12 to P14), it is found that 2.9 kg of HC is produced in AYT and 0.8 kg in SAW.
