Information Technology companies have the most age dispersion within their boards; Consumer Discretionary and Real Estate round out the three most age diverse industries.
However, the chart below shows that companies in the oldest company age category, having gone public more than 50 years ago, have the lowest age dispersion within their individual boards.
Figure 3 visualises the relation between the three heterogeneity indexes (variation ratio, entropy and Gibbs index) and the two wage dispersion indexes (Gini and frictional age dispersion).
