SD can be used as a modelling tool to aggregate knowledge to solve different types of problems that have a limited scope to a specific location or have broad trends of applications across locations and areas of science.

Aggregate Knowledge, a provider of display ad optimization solutions, has closed a Series C financing round of $9 million led by OVP Venture Partners.

He is formerly the founder and CEO of Aggregate Knowledge.
The Seattle-based startup competes with the likes of Aggregate Knowledge, Criteo, MyStrands, and ChoiceStream.
Paul Martino has started four companies, most recently Aggregate Knowledge, and he was one of the first investors in Zynga.
As previously rumored, Aggregate Knowledge closed a second round of financing earlier this year – $20 million to add to their previous $5 million round from Kleiner Perkins and First Round Capital.
"I think Google is looking at the growth of sites like Wikipedia, that aggregate knowledge, and feels it has to play in that space," said Danny Sullivan, a search expert and editor of the Web site Search Engine Land.
Loomia competes directly with Aggregate Knowledge, a high flying startup that has raised a total of $25 million in venture capital.
