A one way between subjects ANOVA was conducted on the performance of different age groups to establish the performance of learners of young and middle aged age groups (20 30, young & and 31 39, middle aged).
To further reduce our findings to studies that focused on elderly human subjects, we searched using the MeSH terms: humans, elderly, aged, aging, old, older, and geriatric.
One study testing 3 different age groups (younger-aged: ages 21 to 39 years, middle-aged: ages 40 to 59 years, older-aged: ages 60 to 81 years) found the age-related decrease in the ability to recognize emotions only after the age group of 60 [30].
The remainder had children who were school-aged (ages 3 to 12 years; n = 19) or infants (0 2 years of age; n = 17).
Smoking was associated with elevated risk for mortality within all behavioral profiles, but risk was greatest when combined with heavy drinking, both for middle-aged (ages 51 65) and older (ages 66+) adults.
In this paper, we report data on middle-aged (ages 40 60; N = 82) and young-old (ages 61 80; N = 79) patients who were enrolled and randomized to the intervention, who participated in an initial care conference and had access to the intervention for a minimum of six weeks after the initial care conference.

Unattended detection of emotional prosody changes was assessed in 21 young (age range: 18 35 years), 19 middle-aged (age range: 36 55 years), and 15 older (age range: 56 75 years) adults.
