The phrase "again an index" is not correct and lacks clarity in written English.
It may be used in contexts where you are referring to something that serves as an index once more, but it requires additional context for proper understanding.
Example: "The data we collected last year is again an index of our progress in the project."
Alternatives: "once more an index" or "again a reference point".
